Sole Sisters Drop-In Walking Program

Weekly walk location highlighted in red below.

Strap on your walking shoes and join the Sole Sisters walking group. This program is held every Wednesday at various locations around the Oceanside area and is intended for women 50+, but all ages are welcome.

All levels of fitness are encouraged and no one will be left behind.

Time: Wednesdays/ September to June
10:00-11:00am
Cost: FREE
You will be asked to sign a waiver at the first walk you attend.

Dear Sole Sisters,

Thank you all for an amazing year of new trails and new and continued friendships. Our walks are finished for the season and will begin again at Rathtrevor Park on September 19th. Please check here closer to the first walk date for the information.

A warm thank you to walk leader, Kathy Budzyn, who welcomed us to her home for a picnic, after a beautiful walk at Nile Creek.

Our last scheduled Sole Sisters walk was June 20th, starting up again, September 19th. Our leaders will take a well deserved rest. Sole Sister, Eleanor Joy, would like to keep the fun going all summer long. Summer Sole Sister Adventures

Active Aging Week (September 24th - 28th)

In honour of Active Aging Week, ACRA will be offering two of its regular programs for free for seniors to try. This weeklong event encourages seniors to be active and to get to know their community.

Sole Sisters Walk
Location: Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park (main parking lot)
Date: Wednesday, September 26th
Time: 10:00am - 11:00am ; Plan to arrive at 9:45am to register.
Price: FREE

Join this weekly walking group for a beautiful walk in the woods at Little Qualicum Falls. All paces and fitness levels are welcome. The group meets every Wednesday at various locations throughout Oceanside, and membership is free. Durring Active Aging Week, we also welcome any Sole Brothers who want to come. This particular trail includes a couple of big hills. Please plan to arrive early as you will need to sign our waiver.


Cardio Dance Club
Location: Bradley Center (975 Shearme Rd, Coombs, BC V0R 1M0)
Date: Monday, September 24th
Time: 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Price: FREE

This fun, fun, FUN program is all about getting moving and shaking to the beat. Instructor Jen deHaan will guide you through a series of dance moves that get your body moving and your heart rate up. The soundtrack includes a mix of new and old hits. All levels of fitness are welcome to participate in this great fitness program. Please plan to arrive early to sign our waiver.

Cardio Dance Club with Jen deHaan

We are excited to offer this FUN fitness class again starting in September. Cardio Dance Club is a follow-along dance fitness class. It is open to all skill and fitness levels. So get your groove on and follow along as our instructor, Jen deHaan, guides you through a series of choreographed dance moves. Each class will feature a mix of modern radio hits and old-school classics. Jen's enthusiasm will encourage you to get your heart rate up and your feet moving.

Beyond Beginner African Hand Drumming Classes With Monica Hofer

Explore African rhythms with Monica Hofer. The djembe drum originated in West Africa nearly 1000 years ago and is a popular instrument in drumming circles. This ten-class series is intended for people with some djembe drumming experience.

Introductory African Hand Drumming Classes With Monica Hofer

Monica will also be offering an introductory African Hand drumming class for those who are new to this kind of drumming. African Hand Drumming includes basic hand drumming techniques and jamming amongst a circle of friends. Drumming is scientifically proven to relieve stress, enhance your immune system and energize your soul. No music experience is necessary. Give it a try!
