1390 Errington Rd, Errington, BC V0R 1V0 (map)
ACRA is excited to welcome back drum diva Monica Hofer to lead the winter session of Beyond Beginners African Hand Drumming. There will be opportunities to work on djembe drums, which originated in West Africa nearly 1000 years ago, and duns, which are also known as African bass drums. Participants will discover new rhythms and expand their knowledge of African drumming.
This class is best suited for people who have some drumming experience. However, beginner drummers are welcome to attend with the knowledge that this particular class will be moving a bit faster and that the basics of hand positions and tones will be reviewed only briefly.
This eight-week program is offered at the Errington War Memorial Hall, February 26 - April 23. (No session on April 2nd.)
Cost is $112.00 / 8 classes. Djembe drums are available for rental for $3 per class on a first come first serve basis.
